Do you know what’s interesting? You can write in a way that keeps the reader reading.
How can this be helpful?
Think about it: what I’m doing right now is keeping you reading.
Do you know why?
Obviously, if you’re new to the subject of hypnotic writing you don’t, but if you’re a seasoned pro maybe you can spot what I’m doing.
Think about it… go ahead and read what I’ve written already, only this time notice the first sentence of each new paragraph.
Can you see it?
You see, I’m using what have been called many things. Trigger sentences, hook phrases, trailer sentences, and even catch phrases. They either come in the form of a phrase such as “You may not be aware of this,” (most of them are followed by a comma) or they come in the form of a short question.
And get this, I just used another one!
Now let me ask you something, are you beginning to see how this works? I used one in this paragraph too and the one that’s about to come up next…
In an earlier version of my book, “How to Hypnotize Anyone Without Getting Caught” I purposefully conducted an experiment to see what would happen if I were to use trailer sentences in the first 40 pages of each paragraph. The results were nothing short of enlightening. Most people I gave copies of this book to all said “I just couldn’t put the book down. I read the first 40+ pages without moving!”
Just think, you can use this in your writing to sell your products. When a person comes to your landing page online, or reads a sales letter you send them in the mail, they won’t want to put it down. It’s helpful for any marketer looking to get their entire sales message across.
Maybe you’ve seen the study. A marketer claimed nobody reads the entire sales letter and he put a sentence that said “And if you read this line, I’ll give you $100 if you ask me for it” and claimed nobody asked for it. When I saw this, I had to laugh because had I written the letter, everyone would be lined up beating his office door down to claim their $100 bill.
After all, you are still reading this, right?
